BGS a+d is a small architecture and design studio that pursues well-crafted, environmentally responsive, site-specific work.  The practice believes successful architecture fulfills its occupants needs and provides them with a grounding sense of place.  Climate, geography, geology, history, use, material and craft shape the architecture.

Brett Simon is the architect behind the practice.  He has always had a deep interest in craft and natural materials and has studied and practiced wood furniture making, metalworking, and ceramics.  He continues to pursue these and other arts and crafts.
